Father's Love Letter

E-mail Print PDF
Welcome to my website, my name is Bobby Wilkerson owner of this web site…no a servant of this web site…Jesus Christ is the owner and the boss.

Jesus is the one driving the bus. I’m sitting on the back seat and every once in a while I walk down the aisle and put my hands on the steering wheel. Jesus looks up at me and laughs….and says to me “I am driving the bus”. I encourage you to visit my web site and join me on my life story.  I will be telling my life story and my God’s stories along the way.

The below illustration tells us in the bible Psalm 68:5 that God is Father to the Fatherless. Please continue to visit my web site and I will share what Jesus has taught me. I will tell you my life story from the time my father was killed in a vehicle accident when I was six weeks old, from the time I was saved, when I was a professional wrestler, when I was a starting guard on my junior high basketball team at 4 foot 8, my life has a thoroughbred jockey for 14 years, when I walked away from horse racing while having a well paid job and a top position, to follow God and to trust God 100 per cent..Not 90 per cent.  During 1974 people encouraged me to write my life story. As we all know since this is 2009 there is much more to say.

God has chosen to illustrate our relationship to Him as a child to his loving father. If you have not had a good relationship with your earthly father has most likely distorted your perception of your heavenly Father. This slideshow uses various Scriptures that focus on the amazing love God has for us.The idea of the letter is not to throw out the righteous and holy aspects of God that require our repentance and turning to Christ. The presentation is especially aimed toward those who, because of bad relationships with their earthly fathers, have difficulty grasping the love of God, our Father.

V I P (Devotional)

V I P

Devotional 1
by Trudy Wilkerson

In kindergarten, Curtis declared his Pappaw to be his V. I. P.  and  drew a picture to illustrate. He dictated to his
teacher the reason—“he’s my favorite papaw-he goes to Newport Aquarium with me.

What a touching memento for Pappaw! However, Grammy (that’s me) was having a difficult moment. In reality,
Pappaw had never once gone to the aquarium with Curtis.  On the other hand, Grammy had taken him twice.
Now, how is it that Pappaw has gotten the credit for this?

Have you had any moments like this in your service to the Lord?  You were the one who did all the grunt work,
ran the errands, got the nasty jobs and then someone else got recognition for the success?   You know--someone
actually stole your idea, took credit for it, and received public kudos? You had been the faithful plodder, always
serving, then a visiting dignitary comes and you are nudged off to the side, as a showboat” steps into the limelight
to impress the visitor?

Does it really matter?  Can we get to  the place of  laughter and love in these situations?
Can you lovingly pray for the perpetrator?

We have framed Curtis' art. I chuckle as I look at it.  What a delightful teaching tool to me from the Lord.
Who cares who gets the credit? He knows our hearts and our service and He is the one who rewards accordingly!

Bible verse to meditate on this week....

“Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no
reward from your Father in heaven.” Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

                                                                                                                                         Matthew 6:1, 4

Applying this to your everyday life...

Have you ever felt violated by someone stealing your “credit” for doing something?     Who?       Why?

Are you over it? Can you truly leave this sort of behavior with the Lord?

Pray...

Dear Lord,

Only you can change hearts. Help me truly not care who gets the credit.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.  1 Peter 3:15
